We teach early literacy skills through a combination of published phonics programs. Children learn letters and sounds through fun lessons. Upon mastering letter sounds, students will begin to blend sounds into words. Appropriate guided reading levels will be selected for individual readers.

Lessons will focus on number recognition and number values. Students will be introduced to geometry, shapes, measurement, patterns, sorting and graphing. As students develop number sense, addition and subtraction will be introduced.

Students will learn about the world around them through creative crafts and hands on experiments. Each month will focus on a different unit. Examples of monthly units are: My Five Senses, Life Cycles, Community Helpers and Solar Systems.

We teach handwriting through a published writing program that is fun and engages students. The program provides a developmentally appropriate, multisensory approach to teaching handwriting.

We use music daily for classroom control and chores. Each day students are exposed to famous children's songs and dances.
